Additional Training Courses
The following courses are not on the AMA Training Schedule but may be taught at our facility, or yours. All classes may be customized to company or job specifics and may be taught in English, or Spanish. Upon successful completion, each student will receive an AMA training card and certificate.
2-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician
This course fulfills the training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 199210.120(q)(6)(iii). It is for personnel who respond to hazardous material releases. This course is applicable to industrial and institutional emergency response teams. Students will receive extensive supervised practice in the control of hazardous substance releases.
8-Hour HAZWOPER First Responder Operations
This course fulfills the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(ii) for personnel who will initially respond to hazardous materials incidents in a defensive manner. First responders at the operations level will protect people, property and the environment from the effects of the release. The course may be tailored to individual company emergency response plans.
OSHA 30-Hour for Construction or General Industry
These courses are designed for supervisors, foremen, directors, site safety officers, and project managers who are responsible for OSHA compliance at their construction sites, company, or facilities. The 30-Hr. for Construction focuses on 29 CFR 1926 regulations and the 30-Hr. for General Industry focuses on 29 CFR 1910 regulations. Overview of OSHA, basic electrical safety, machine guarding, ladders, scaffolds, excavations, cranes, PPE, confined space entry, tools & equipment are some of the topics that may be included.
OSHA 10-Hour for Construction or General Industry
These courses provide employees with safety training on a variety of OSHA topics and will be customized to address site-specific safety training needs. These courses can be conducted in one long day, or broken into parts on two consecutive days.
Laboratory Safety
The course will discuss the content of the OSHA Laboratory Standard (29CFR 1910.1450) and its appendices related to laboratories and the following specific topics: emergency response chemical hazard identification; MSDS’s for the laboratory, physical hazards; controlling chemical exposures; fume hood evaluations and chemical hygiene plans.
8-Hour Confined Space Entry
This course meets the OSHA training requirements found in 29 CFR 1910.146 for Permit-Required Confined Space Entry. The course meets the basic training requirements for supervisors, entrants and attendants. Hands-on activities include completing a permit, atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, energy isolation, retrieval system setup and use, and actual entry operations.
8-Hr DOT HAZMAT Employee
This course is intended for anyone that loads, unloads, transports or handles hazardous materials; prepares hazardous materials for transportation; or has responsibilities for safe transportation of hazmats. Detailed desktop activities are included. This course meets the requirements of 49 CFR, Part 172, Subpart H – Training for Hazmat Employees.
Respiratory Protection
This course is designed for anyone who is required to wear an air purifying or supplied air respirator. The requirements of OSHA’s General Industry Respirator Standard are presented. Hands-on activities include fit test demonstrations, inspecting, cleaning, wearing, and storing respirators. |
